Combat Flight Simulator 3: Known issues in the documentation and online Help

The following are known issues in the documentation and
Help files in Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3:

  • Quick Reference Card

    The Quick Reference Card incorrectly assigns the yaw
    right
    (rudder) action to the ENTER key on the numeric keypad. To yaw
    right, press the 3 key on the numeric keypad.

  • Getting Started Right

    The “Getting Started Right” booklet incorrectly refers
    to the Flight Recorder function. The Flight Recorder function is not available
    in Combat Flight Simulator 3.

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer Issues

    The air combat maneuver training movies that are a
    component of Combat Flight Simulator Help do not play if Internet Explorer 4.0
    is installed on your computer. These movies may also not play on some Microsoft
    Windows 98-based computers on which Internet Explorer 5.0 is installed.

    To work around this issue, upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.5 or
    later. For more information about how to obtain and install the latest version
    of Internet Explorer, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

  • Training Video Does Not Play

    A security update in Microsoft Windows Media Player 9
    prevents the playback of “Training Videos” in the Help section.

    INFO: Relative URL paths may no longer work

    If you have Windows Media Player 9 installed, play the movies outside Combat Flight Simulator 3 to work around this issue. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click Run, and then type Drive :P rogram FilesMicrosoft GamesCombat Flight Simulator 3HelpVideo in the Open box.

      In this example, Drive is the letter of the hard disk where Combat Flight Simulator 3 is installed.

    2. Click OK.
    3. Double-click to start one of the movies that you want to watch.
